フリースタイル・モトゥエカ –

モトゥエカは、収穫時期によってライムの爽快感から甘みのあるレモンライム、さらに複雑なトロピカルフルーツのニュアンスまで、幅広い表情を見せます。

早期収穫モトゥエカ
早期収穫のモトゥエカは、鮮烈なライムの香りが際立ち、フローラルや白い果実のような香りが背景に感じられるのが特徴です。

後期収穫モトゥエカ
後期収穫のモトゥエカは、ダンク感がなく、よりトロピカルで、まるでレモンライムのソフトドリンクのようなフレーバーへと変化します。
その分、シトラスのシャープな明るさは少し和らぎますが、全体のフレーバーはより複雑になります。
特に、ホップ主体のビールにトロピカルなトップノートを加えたい場合に最適です。

モトゥエカの活用
モトゥエカは、ヘイジーIPAで他のホップと組み合わせることで、ユニークで魅力的なビールを生み出すことが多いです。
実際、UntappdやRateBeerなどのプラットフォームで、高評価を獲得しているビールの多くに、モトゥエカが使用されています。

おすすめの組み合わせ
モトゥエカは、レジン感のある深みと、さらにトロピカルなトップノートを持つホップと組み合わせることで、より豊かなフレーバープロファイルを引き出します。

Freestyle Motueka

We harvest our Motueka across a spectrum that spans, from bright zesty lime to more sweet lemon lime with complex tropical notes.  Our earlier harvest Motueka has a bright zesty lime profile with floral and white fruit notes in the background.  And our late harvest Motueka swings to super tropical, with no dankness and more lemon-lime soft drink character.  Late harvest Motueka has more overall complexity than an early harvest Motueka, but loses some of the zesty citrus brightness.  Later harvest Motueka can add nice tropical top notes to a hop forward beer.  We often see hazy IPAs made with Motueka and one other hop varietal producing unique and appealing beers that are highly liked/rated on platforms like Untappd and RateBeer.  Motueka pairs brilliantly with a hop that can bring resinous depth and additional tropical high notes.
