Rakau has distinct stone fruit aromas with apricot being the most prevalent and a well rounded dank character. The potent and complex stone fruit profile of Rakau pairs well with a high free thiol hop like Nelson Sauvin or Waimea. The terpene forward, full orchard profile with excellent cannabis complexity lifts and accentuates those hops that have high concentrations of free thiols. While Rakau can struggle to excite in a single hop beer, it is frequently a key component of award winning hop forward beers.
