ワイメアは、オレンジゼストやグレープフルーツのような強いシトラス香に、リッチなスプルース（針葉樹）のニュアンスを持つホップです。2025年のフリースタイル・ワイメアは、これらの特性に加え、ピンクグレープフルーツ、グアバ、パパイヤ、パイナップルといったトロピカルフルーツの香りがより強調されています。ほのかなハーバル（カンナビス様）なニュアンスもあり、非常に華やかでフルーティーな印象を与えます。

Waimea is known for its intense citrus character of orange zest and grapefruit with a touch of resinous spruce. The 2025 Freestyle Waimea selection amplifies those traits with bold pink grapefruit, guava, and pineapple notes alongside a subtle cannabis background. With huge flavor intensity and a tropical-citrus balance, it enhances hop-forward beers beautifully.
Waimea pairs well with varieties high in ester-driven or terpene alcohol compounds — such as Rakau, Southern Cross, and Motueka — which accentuate its thiol-rich tropical top notes and pink grapefruit brightness.
